Westin Hotels & Resorts, Spa in Cam Ranh, Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa

Starwood’s Westin Hotels & Resorts has signed an agreement with Phat Dat Real Estate Development Corporation for a Westin resort to be developed on a beachfront site in Cam Ranh Bay, Khanh Hoa Province on the southeastern coast of Vietnam. The 330-room Westin is targeted to open in 2012.
The Westin Resort & Spa, Cam Ranh will feature 330 rooms and a range of Westin products and services including the Westin Heavenly Bed, Westin WORKOUT and Heavenly Spa. Other hotel facilities will also include eight food and beverage outlets, a health club, swimming pools, Westin Heavenly Spa, Westin Kid’s Club, business center and a retail shop.
Cam Ranh Bay is a protected inlet off the South China Sea situated between Phan Rang and Nha Trang, approximately 290 kilometers northeast of Ho Chi Minh City. It is well-known for its white sandy beaches and pristine turquoise waters. The site features an extensive beach frontage of 550 meters.
Due to the beachfront location and undulating terrain of the site, all guest rooms and villas will feature views of the ocean. The Westin resort is approximately a 10-minute drive from Cam Ranh airport and a 40-minute drive to the Nha Trang city center, the capital of Khanh Hoa Province.

Starwood expands investment portfolio in Vietnam

HCMC - Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide Inc. is taking steps to expand its hotel and resort investment portfolio in Vietnam to further cash in on the growing domestic market.

Spa, eight food and beverage outlets, a health club, an indoor heated pool, corners for kids are the facilities of the resort, which stretches 600 meters of Cam Ranh Peninsula’s shore and is 35 kilometers south of Nha Trang.Nguyen Van Dat, chairman and chief executive officer of Phat Dat Corp, which is also the developer of The EverRich apartment and commercial complex in HCMC, told the Daily that the corporation believed such a premium resort project would be for the future when the demand increased though the real estate and tourism sectors in Vietnam were facing difficulties.Dat said the firm was planning to develop similar projects in the World Heritage-listed city of Hoi An and Phu Quoc Island offshore Kien Giang Province in the Mekong Delta to expand its presence in the hospitality industry after four years of operating in real estate.Matthew Fry, Starwood’s vice president of operations and development in Asia Pacific, said Vietnam was the premier resort destination in the world because of its beautiful beaches and great potential to hospitality development, and these were why the Starwood decided to set up the Westin brand here.Also last week, Starwood’s Sheraton Hotels and Resorts publicized May 2009 as the debut for its Nha Trang property.A grand opening of the 281-room, 30-story Sheraton Nha Trang Hotel & Spa is planned for June, marking the first upscale hotel brand of this kind to open on the beach in Vietnam.By Nhan Tam and Mong Binh - The Saigon Times Daily
