Thailand-based Six Senses Resorts & Spas announced Tuesday it would manage two more tourism facilities in Vietnam, raising the total number of properties under its management in the country to five facilities.
The resort and spa management firm has clinched a strategic agreement with Vietnam’s project owner Ninh Van Bay Travel Real Estate Joint Stock Co. to manage two properties in southern Vietnam.
They include the Six Senses Latitude Phu Quoc on Phu Quoc Island off Mekong Delta Kien Giang Province and the Six Senses Latitude Saigon River in southern Dong Nai Province.
Hoang Anh Dung, board chairman of Ninh Van Bay JSC, told The Saigon Times Daily at a news briefing in Ho Chi Minh City on Tuesday the company had invested some VND660 billion (US$35.7 million) to turn a 117-hectare site on Phu Quoc Island into the resort.
The resort, home to 136 units is expected to open to business by 2012.
Ninh Van Bay has also injected VND560 billion ($30.3 million) in the Six Senses Latitude Saigon River in Nhon Trach District, Dong Nai Province, a 20-minute boat ride from the heart of HCMC.
The five-star resort, designed according to the image of a village in southern Vietnam, offers 215 guest accommodations, including 63 residential villas for sales, according to the project developer.
The first model villa will be on display by March this year and the resort is scheduled to be launched by the end of the second quarter next year.
Under the newly-signed agreement, which is valid for 30 years, Six Senses will provide technical assistance for the local partner to further develop high-end resorts in Vietnam.
Ninh Van Bay, in return, will choose its Thai partner as the top priority to manage its resort projects in the country.
Dung said the company would start work on the second phase for the Six Senses Hideaway Ninh Van Bay in the central coastal Nha Trang City with the construction of 24 luxury villas along the beach.
The chairman said his company was also planning to move forward to the northern region for tourism development after establishing a solid base in the southern region.
Meanwhile, the Six Senses Private Residences Con Dao, which is being developed by real estate developer Indochina Land, is set to open later this year, offering to the local hotelier 35 villas for hotel services and 15 luxury residential villas for sale.

Six Senses Hotels, Resorts & Spas của Thái Lan vừa ký thỏa thuận hợp tác chiến lược với công ty CP Bất động sản Ninh Vân Bay để quản lý thêm 2 khu nghỉ dưỡng cao cấp tại Việt Nam là Six Senses Latitude Phu Quoc tại tỉnh Kiên Giang và Six Senses Latitude Saigon River tại tỉnh Đồng Nai.
Được thành lập từ năm 1995, Six Senses hiện đang quản lý 26 khu nghỉ dưỡng và 41 khu spa độc quyền tại Maldives, Thái Lan, Jordan và Tây Ban Nha. Six Senses cũng đã quản lý Evason Ana Mandara Nha Trang từ năm 1998 và Six Senses Hideaway Ninh Van Bay từ năm 2002.
Ông Berhard Bohnenberger – Giám đốc điều hành của Six Senses cho rằng với mức độ gia tăng ô nhiễm và căng thẳng hiện nay thì mọi người bắt đầu mong muốn có thêm nhiều kỳ nghỉ để tránh xa những căng thẳng đời thường và được gần gũi thiên nhiên hơn.
“Sự sang trọng trong tương lai sẽ là thiên nhiên thuần túy” ông ta nói.
Hoàng Anh Dũng, chủ tích HDQT của Ninh Vân Bay, tiết lộ thêm tổng vốn đầu tư cho dự án Six Senses Latitude Saigon River là khoảng 31 triệu USD và khu nghỉ chính thức được đi hoạt động cuối năm 2011.
Khu nghỉ 5 sao sẽ có tổng cộng 215 phòng nghỉ bao gồm cả 63 biệt thự để bán. Biệt thự mẫu sẽ chính thức được trưng bày từ tháng 3 năm nay.
Dự án Six Senses Latitude Phu Quoc sẽ được đầu tư 37 triệu USD và dự kiến hoàn thành vào năm 2012. Ninh Vân Bay cũng đã bắt đầu khỏi công dự án giai đoạn 2 của Six Senses Hideaway Ninh Van Bay với tổng mức đầu tư đạt 12 triệu USD cho 24 căn biệt thự sang trọng để bán.
Six Senses sẽ cung cấp sự hỗ trợ kỹ thuật cho Ninh Vân Bay để phát triển các khu nghỉ cao cấp tại Việt Nam. Đồng thời, Ninh Vân Bay cũng sẽ dành sự ưu tiên hàng đầu cho Six Senses trong việc quản lý các khu nghỉ dưỡng tại Việt Nam.

We stayed for 2 nights in Deluxe sea view Villa, it is a good choice, beach front, nice balcony. Avoid the room number 330, it is near the public beach and parking. It is a little bit noisy and less privacy.
